UGC NET 2013 on 30th June

June 24 (): The UGC NET 2013 examination is scheduled to be held on 30th June, Sunday. 

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has declared the date of the National Eligibility Test (NET) as  30th June 2013 for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Lectureship only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship both in Indian universities and colleges. 

UGC plans to conduct NET in 78 subjects  at select 79  NET Coordinating Universities spread across the country. You may visit this link to know the subjects one can opt for to take the exam: http://ugcnetonline.in/subjects.php

The result of the UGC-NET to be held on 30th June 2013 will be made available on the UGC websites: http://www.ugc.ac.in and http://www.ugcnetonline.in as and when they are declared.

Candidates who appear for the UGC –NET examination 2013 will have to check the results online only and they will not be individually intimated through any mode.

Candidates who qualify for Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to undertake research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for lectureship. However, candidates qualifying exclusively for lectureship will not be considered for award of JRF.

UGC NET 2013 Exam Pattern

The UGC-NET examination 2013 will comprise of only objective type questions for all three papers and held in 2 sessions.

I (General awareness,reasoning ,comprehension etc)


60 out of which 50 question to be attempted

1¼ hours (9.30 am- 10.45 am )



(based on subject chosen by the candidate)


50 questions all are compulsory

1¼ hours (10.45 am-

12 noon)



(based on subject chosen by the candidate)


75 questions all are compulsory

2½ hours (1.30 pm-

4 pm)
