Box office collection : Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani collects 177 crore in three weeks

Mumbai, June 22 (): Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles has completed its three weeks successfully without being hampered by the fresh releases. The movie has maintained a rock-steady status at the Indian Box Office in the third week.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#YJHD Breakup for Week 3:- Fri 3.25 cr, Sat 4.30 cr, Sun 5.65 cr, Mon 2.50 cr, Tue 2.30 cr, Wed 2 cr, Thu 1.81 cr. Total: Rs 177.09 cr nett.”

Taran commented the movie as a blockbuster. He tweeted, “#YJHD collected approx Rs 21.81 cr nett in its Week 3. Grand total: Rs 177.09 cr nett. BLOCKBUSTER”. Even after completing three solid weeks, YJHD has collected a good sum and has become the undisputed leader at the box office.

Yet, YJHD has only taken the second place; Hollywood movie Man of Steel topped the domestic collection chart. It has surpassed Rs 175 crore mark in 21 days.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is now heading towards 200 crore mark in the domestic market. The film is likely to break the all-time records of Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 199 crores) and 3 Idiots (Rs 202 crores).

As per early trends, the new releases of this Friday have not affected the run of YJHD. Although new films of this Friday, like Raanjhanaa and Shortcut Romeo have hit the screens, the movie is still dominating the box office. It is likely to reach Rs 200 crore mark in fourth week.

Dharma Productions’ Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is directed by Ayan Mukherjee and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin. The movie is a heart-warming story about family, friends and love.

The youthful romantic entertainer was released on May 31 and the audiences who came to the movie were either moved by the fun quotient of the movie and lively trailer or by good word of mouth appreciation.

YJHD is still the first choice for many viewers in the third week.
