Mumbai, June 22 (): Actor Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi’s forthcoming film ‘Ghanchakkar’ has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification.

The film is a comedy thriller, produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur and directed by Rajkumar Gupta.
Director Gupta said Ghanchakkar is an out-and-out masala entertainer and he was waiting to see the reaction from the audiences. He expects full families to come and see this comic thriller.
Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi are doing promotions for the film in a strong manner. At all Ghanchakkar promotions Vidya dresses like her character Neetu and her co-star Emraan Hashmi acts like his character from the movie.
At a promotional event for the film, Vidya Balan said Gupta was offering her such a different film and she felt Ghanchakkar would be the best film as her first comedy.
The 33-year-old actress added while reading the script she felt that it was very interesting and she had never read anything like that. The story of the film was about real situations and real people. So, she nodded for the film and now she was so happy she had done the film. The actress has teamed up with Gupta for the second time after No One Killed Jessica.
Meanwhile, last seen in an unconventional flick Ek Thi Daayan, Emraan is now appearing in the comedy movie Ghanchakkar. The actor has called the new appearance as a “rebirth” in his career post 2009. The actor admitted that breaking through stereotypes in films such as The Dirty Picture and Ek Thi Daayan have brought him success.
Previously, Hashmi received critical praise for doing a variety of characters in movies such as Awarapan (2007), Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), The Dirty Picture (2011) and Shanghai (2012).
