Mumbai, June 20 (): Raanjhanaa, which is a love triangle story, with both rustic and an urban side to it stars Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in lead roles and is releasing on June 21, 2013.
Kolaveri Di fame actor and superstar Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush is making his Bollywood debut with Raanjhanaa, which is directed by Tanu Weds Manu fame, Anand L Rai.
Raanjhanaa is produced by Eros International and the film music is composed by Oscar award winner A. R. Rahman.
Raanjhanaa is the story of love set in Benaras. The story revolves around Kundan, that traces the journey of a 13 year old boy in love who goes on to become a committed and spirited young man. The love experiences he faces in his life shape him the person he is today.
Kundan (Dhanush) is in love with Zoya (Sonam Kapoor) ever since he was eight. At the age of 13, he confesses his love, but Zoya brushes it aside as a childish crush.
Zoya enters college in Delhi, where she meets and falls in love with a budding politician Akram (Abhay Deol). When she finds some problems in their relationship, she returns to Benaras where she confesses her feelings to her friend Kundan and asks for his help. Here starts the tale of love, betrayal, reclamation and healing that are set against the backdrops of Delhi and Benaras.
The trailer of Raanjhanaa was released a month back. It has created quite a stir and is certainly one of the most anticipated films of 2013. The songs of the movie have also become good hits that have the trademark Rahman touch, which makes the numbers truly hummable.
Aamir Khan recently sent a message, praising the movie’s first look and music. He has praised and appreciated the promos. He messaged to producer Krishika Lulla that he was looking forward to watch the movie.
The dubbed Tamil version of Raanjhanaa is titled “Ambikapathy” and is scheduled to release after a week of its Hindi release.
