Mahesh Babu’s heroine in ‘Aagadu’ is Tamannaah

Hyderabad, June 17 (): Mahesh Babu and Tamannaah have paired for the first time for Sreenu Vaitla’s action-thriller film “Aagadu.”

Earlier, speculations said Shruti Hassan and Samantha were being considered for the female leads for “Aagadu” against Mahesh Babu. Now, confirmed reports say Tamannaah has been roped in to be the leading lady.

Earlier rumours also stated actress Sonam Kapoor has signed up for Mahesh Babu’s forthcoming movie Aagadu. But, Sonam slammed the rumours. Then, it was also rumoured that Sonakshi Sinha would pair with the Tollywood superstar.

It is now confirmed that Tamannaah has been roped in against Mahesh Babu in “Aagadu”. The actress has been one of the most sought-after actresses in southern cinema. She has been paired with most of the A-list stars in both Tamil and Telugu films. But, Tamannaah has never been paired with Mahesh Babu.

Aagudu is produced by Anil Sunkara, Gopichand and Ram Achanta, who had earlier produced Dookudu under 14 Reels Entertainments.

Directed by Sreenu Vaitla, the action-comedy entertainer will soon go on floors in August after Mahesh completes his upcoming film “One-Nenokkadaine.” The director has reportedly completed the script work for the film. Expectations are growing higher for “Aagadu” as Sreenu Vaitla and Mahesh Babu will be teaming up for the second time after their blockbuster flick “Dookudu”.

A spokesperson from the film’s unit told that Sreenu Vaitla is likely to write his own script for the film. He would be assisted by Gopi Mohan in the scripting sessions, but it would be the own story of Sreenu.

Sreenu Vaitla has directed 13 Telugu films in 15 years. In the beginning of his career, he wrote his own scripts for his movies like Nee Kosam, Anandam and Sontham. But later, Gopi Mohan teamed up with him and has penned the story for eight of his movies, which include Dhee, Ready, Dubai Seenu and Dookudu.

A source close to the director said that Aagadu is more like a sequel to Dookudu.
