Mumbai, May 28 (): Shahrukh Khan will undergo a shoulder surgery at the Lilavati hospital today. Earlier, the actor was supposed to go to London for his shoulder treatment, but he has finally chosen to remain within the city.
Shahrukh got hurt in his shoulder while shooting for his dream project RA.One in 2010. Although he underwent treatment immediately, his condition did not improve entirely.
The actor flew to London to get his shoulder injury examined, where he was diagnosed of muscle tear. But, SRK decided to do the surgery in his shoulders in a city hospital in Mumbai. Dr Sanjay Desai will be operating his right shoulder.
An insider said that SRK suffered from a muscle tear, which is caused due to bone outgrowth. It gets aggravated when he does action and dance sequences due to pressure. Doing a lot of high-octane action scenes for ‘Chennai Express’, the pain in the shoulders has increased and has worsened his condition.
A couple of years ago, SRK underwent a minimally invasive surgery in his left shoulder at the Breach Candy Hospital. For this surgery, he was to go to London but then he decided against it as it would be waste of time which he could not spare.
The insider added that the actor would be at the hospital for a couple of days and then would recover at home for a month.
Even, SRK did not want to disturb the shooting schedules of Chennai Express (CE) as the film is his big Eid release this year. Bearing the pain, the actor apparently finished shooting for Rohit Shetty film in Hyderabad on May 25. The last schedule even included an action sequence.
Though the actor has already started promoting Chennai Express, he is expected to join the team for on-ground activities by mid-June.
Reports say he has previously broken three ribs, twisted his ankle, fractured his right toe, and suffered a neck, back and knee injury.
