Suriya’s ‘Singam 2’ releases on 14 June ; Ajith’s film may release in August

Chennai, May 12 (): Suriya’s most-awaited film “Singam 2″ is all set to hit the theatres on 14 June, while Ajith’s untitled movie directed by ace director Vishnu Vardhan might have an August release, say reports.

The Telugu dubbed version of the film, “Yamudu 2″, is also expected to get released on the same date as the original.

Singam 2 is sequel to 2010 blockbuster Singam. Directed by Hari, Singam 2 features Surya, Anushka, Hansika in lead roles. The other star cast includes Vijayakumar, Nassar, Vivek, Santhanam, Manorama and Radha Ravi. Actress Anjali does a cameo in one of the songs in the movie. The music for the film has been scored by Devi Sri Prasad.

Suriya plays the role of a cop in this action entertainer. Actor Prakash Raj who played the villain in the original will not be a part of “Singam 2″. The movie has Hollywood villain, Danny Sapani, instead of Prakash Raj.

Director Hari said the story of ‘Singam 2′ starts from Tuticorin and goes to South Africa. A very prominent fight sequence was shot with the new villain in South Africa, he added.

Hari also said the South Africa fight scenes would be power-packed stunt sequences in the film. In Singam 2, Suriya would be more aggressive and energetic than the first one. So, South Africa would be ideal for a fiery action sequence.

Sources said the audio of the riveting and racy entertainer Singam 2 would be launched on June 1. The songs have come good like the prequel and the music will be launched at a grand function in Chennai.

Then the new buzz from the cine circle says Ajith-Vishnu Vardhan’s untitled film might be released on 15 August (Independence Day), though there is no official word on it. This most expected movie of Ajith have been viewed by more than 17 lakh people, since the day the teaser was uploaded on YouTube.
