Mumbai Indians

Kolkata Knight Riders

Mumbai have 14 points in the points tally and today they are facing the 12th round match against the Knight Riders who are suffering in the bottom half of the table with 8 points from 11 matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders:

The Knight Riders top-order batting has waxed and waned in IPL-6. Only captain Gambhir started off with three half centuries in their first four games and has since struggled to get going. Gambhir is the top scorer for his side with 320 runs. Even the ever-dependable Jacques Kallis (219 runs) has not been consistent.

The defending champions would be pleased with Yusuf Pathan, who had made 49 not out in their eight-wicket win over Royals after a string of low scores. If Kolkata is not yet out of the tournament, it is mainly due to their bowling, especially Sunil Narine. Sachithra Senanayeke, Bhatia and Kallis have also been good.

Mumbai Indians:

Mumbai Indians have not only won five times out of five at their home ground so far in IPL VI, in their last match they produced perhaps the unlikeliest result possible – a victory over Chennai Super Kings by 60 runs.

In the batting side, Mumbai batting has not excelled in their performance so far, with senior batsman Sachin Tendulkar failing to convert his starts into big scores.

Mumbai’s bowling at their home ground has been pretty impressive, with Harbhajan Singh taking wickets with Pragyan Ojha in the middle overs. Lasith Malinga might not have been among the wickets much, but he has kept things tight whenever given the ball.
