Chennai, May 6 (): International R&B singer Akon has reached Chennai to record the global version of Tamil actor Silambarasan aka Simbu’s hit love single “Love Anthem”, which was originally released in 2011 for world peace.
This love anthem will be highlighting the harassment faced by South Indians in other countries. The song will be more of a tribute song and the main intention of the song is to spread the Infinite Love and feeling of oneness to the world.
Simbu has roped in the international singer in his anthem. Akon has earlier crooned two songs for Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One. Now, in his second contribution to India, the singer will be recording with Simbu for his Love Anthem. He will be in Chennai till May 6, and will also shoot for the video of the song.
In his previous contribution in Ra.One, Akon had just lent his voice. But with Love Anthem, he will be contributing to the lyrics department and also feature in its video.
Akon arrived in Chennai on Saturday night and the team has begun shooting. Simbu posted a message on Twitter: “On the way to the studio. Recording the vocals tonight. Excited and nervous as well.”
In an interview, Simbu said the new version would be different from the last version of the song. The new version would be more about oneness and the need to spread love.
Simbu also said that during Akon’s previous visit to US, this song was scheduled to take off, however the dates did not seem to work out. Now, all things are just fine and Akon would not just help Simbu with the singing department, but lend his lyrical skills.
Akon will shoot with the team in Chennai for three days. The song will be full of words taken from 96 languages.
