Patna, May 4 (): RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav sustained a head injury on Friday late evening as the windshield of his vehicle accidently broke while he was heading towards Raghopur in Vaishali district. Lalu Prasad was rushed to the Rajeshwar Hospital where he was given medical aid. Doctors attending on him declared his condition to be stable.
The accident took place at 10.15 pm when Prasad in his Innova car was crossing a bridge to move towards Raghopur near Kachchi Dargah. The windshield broke due to the sudden jerk, when the car got stuck in the middle of the bridge. Lalu Prasad who was occupying the front seat sustained injuries in the head and his face and also received some scratches as the broken windshield glasses hit him.
Shakti Yadav, an RJD leader who was accompanying Lalu Prasad in the same car said that the accident took place all of a sudden and they were in a shock realizing how the accident could have taken place. Former RJD MP Rajniti Prasad who was sitting in the next car immediately moved him to the hospital.
The RJD leader was also believed to be making preparations for the party’s ambitious Parivartan Rally scheduled to be held on May 15 in Patna. Lalu Prasd was heading towards Raghopur to meet the families who were affected by a major fire that broke out in the area on Thursday.
Meanwhile, making enquiry about the RJD chief’s health, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Lalu Prasad Yadav today morning and asked him about his health condition after he met with an accident on Friday.
Modi wished the RJD leader to get well soon. Sources said Lalu Prasad was discharged from the hospital at 11:00 pm after getting treatment. He had to undergo two stitches on his head, said a senior doctor to reporters.
