New Delhi, Apr. 23 (ANI): Proceedings in both the houses of Parliament were disrupted for the second day on Tuesday with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led opposition demanding Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s resignation in connection with the coal blocks allocation issue, while other political outfits raised various other matters, leading to adjournment of the Lok Sabha for the day, and the Rajya Sabha till 2 p.m.
Lawmakers belonging to the BJP, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Samajwadi Party, Left parties trooped into the Well of both the Houses raising issues like coal blocks allocation, alleged neglect of West Bengal in grant of central funds and reported Chinese incursions in Ladakh.
In the Lok Sabha, the opposition leaders rushed to the Well and raised slogans on various issues soon after Speaker Meira Kumar made a reference to the Panchayati Raj Day.
Moreover, a group of Congress lawmakers were seen waving placards and demanding a separate state of Telangana.
The Speaker tried to continue with the Question Hour, but soon adjourned the House till noon and later adjourned for the day, as members were unrelenting in their demands.
The situation in the Rajya Sabha was almost similar with the BJP lawmakers raising slogans in support of their demand and cornering the government on various issues.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Prof. P.J. Kurien later adjourned the House till 2 p.m. (ANI)
