Idea launches 3G smartphone Aurus 2 for Rs. 6,490

New Delhi, Apr 20 (): Idea Cellular yesterdaylaunched Aurus 2, a new dual-SIM 3G Android smartphone for Rs. 6,490. This is the company’s first Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS running device.

Idea Aurus 2 has a 3.5 inch capacitive HVGA touchscreen with a 320×480 pixel resolution. The dual-SIM Aurus 2 is powered with a 1 GHz processor and offers video-calling facility.

It features an internal memory of 4GB, of which around 1.5 GB is usable and has a 512 MB of RAM. The memory can be expanded up to 32GB via micro-SD card. It also comes with a VGA front facing camera front-facing webcam for facilitating video conferences. It sports a 3.2MP camera with digital zoom in the rear side.

Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer of Idea Cellular, said, “Idea focuses on bringing the best of the 3G technology at reasonable price to our subscribers, thereby maintaining an equilibrium between both cost and technology.”

The Idea Cellular company offers a 3G pack with this smartphone that users can buy for Rs 261 Aurus 2. Users can get 1.6 GB of 3G data and Idea TV subscription free for three months.

The company said that Aurus 2 3G smartphone from Idea is available at all major mobile retail stores and Idea outlets across the country. This smartphone will also come with easy access to Facebook, Gmail, Twitter and other social networks.

Idea on September 2012, launched Idea Aurus. Idea Aurus 2 is the sixth 3G Android smartphone by the telecom operator in the Indian market and the first with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The other smartphones earlier launched by the company includes Idea Ivory, Idea Aurus, ID-280, ID 918 and Idea Blade.
