Vijay in ‘Baadshah’ remake? Vijay refutes rumours

Chennai, Apr 10 (): Vijay is at present shooting in Australia for Thalaivaa. The actor has refuted the rumours  that he may play the lead role in the Tamil remake of NTR-Kajal Aggarwal starrer Telugu movie ‘Baadshah’.

‘Baadshah’ was released on April 5. It is a high-voltage action entertainer accompanied by a good comedy line. The movie is directed by Srinu Vaitla and produced by Bandla Ganesh. It opened very well and has taken the box office by storm.

Along with NTR, Kajal Aggarwal is in the lead role and Navdeep is playing the villain. The movie also stars all leading comedians of Tollywood in important roles. The star cast includes Kelly Dorji, Ashish Vidyarthi, Navdeep, M.S Narayana, Brahmanadam, Tanikella Bharani, Ritu Varma, Siddharth Suryanarayan, Nassar, Vennela Kishore, Tagubothu Ramesh, Mukesh Rishi, Ajay and Chandra Mohan. Thaman has composed music for the film and the movie is shot in Italy.

Baadshah has become a super hit movie breaking the collection records. The movie has collected Rs.13.5 crore worldwide on its opening day, April 5. It is still running to packed houses.

All commercial elements that the NTR fans expect from him are present in the movie and there is a good amount of emotion, which is also liked by the family audience.

After Baadshah was judged a super hit, the news moving around the Kollywood town is that Prasad V. Potluri of PVP Cinema has brought the remake rights of the film in Tamil and has plans to rope in Vijay to play the lead role.

But, Vijay is at present in Australia for Thalaivaa shooting. He has not yet seen the film. A source told that a person had approached the production company saying Vijay would like the remake rights. However, Vijay said from Australia, “No, that’s not true. I don’t know how these news stories start!”
