Bangalore, Apr 10 (): A hurricane knock by Virat Kohli guided Royal Challengers Bangalore’s victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad here at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium Tuesday.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match as the home team levelled the scores with Sunrisers Hyderabad. They lost to Sunrisers in the super over on Sunday. Chasing a target of 162, Virat Kohli smashed the Sunrisers’ bowlers all over the ground and made a quick-fire 93 off just 47 balls with eleven fours and four sixes to reach the target with 16 balls to spare.
Kohli smashed Amit Mishra for 21 runs in the 16th over. Earlier, Royal challengers lost its ace batsmen Chris Gayle and the other opener Agarwal for just 47 runs in the seventh over.
Earlier, winning the toss, after a sluggish start, Sunrisers made 161 in 20 overs for a loss of six wickets. Cameron White made a brisk 52 in 34 balls with three sixes, supported by Thisara Perera with 40 in 24 balls with four sixes. Both made 80 runs partnership in 44 deliveries. The last six overs of the innings produced a whopping 77 runs.
After the match, Kohli said, “We knew we could make a comeback. We were very confident about chasing, the wicket gets better under the lights. 160 was a par score and we knew we could chase it down. I love playing in Bangalore.”
Sunrisers skipper Sangakkara said, ”We were probably 10-12 short at the end of our first 10 overs, but 160 was competitive. I thought Kohli was the difference between the two sides.”
