Mumbai, Apr 7 ( ) : Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts chain as part of an image makeover unveiled a new brand identity, which includes a new logo and a revamped website.
The new identity and logo will be implemented at existing and forthcoming properties which includes signages, advertising creations, materials for guest, sales and marketing agreements stationery and amenities, Leela said in a statement.
Vivek Nair, Chairman, Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts said: “The new brand identity is a tribute to the hotel chains past and the future, and shows the brand’s promise to deliver only the finest luxury experiences, in ambience that are the essence of India.”
“Now is the time for the Group to not only continue redefining luxury, but also to show it in everything that bears our name,” he added. Leela group felt that the change marks a significant highpoint for the company, which had started from one hotel on the outskirts of Mumbai airport, into a chain of eight properties in major cities across the country over the last 25 years, the company statement said.
The new brand identity was created as a result of a collaboration with globally renowned branding experts, Paris-based Landor Associates, Atlanta’s Rare Medium and Satya Rajpurohit, master Indian calligrapher.
Leela Group said its website has also been revamped and adapted to be fully optimised for other mobile applications including iPads and iPhones.
“The Leela Group plans to expand and double its portfolio in the next four years, adding four more new luxury hotels and two more branded Leela Residences to its portfolio,” the company statement said.
The company is now hiving off many of its loss making hotels. The Chennai hotel is up for sale and the Bangalore land is to be converted into a residential apartment block. It has already sold the business park in Chennai.
