Chennai, Apr 2 (): Tamil romantic comedy Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga (KBKR) has received a great response at box office. The movie has collected 13.51 crore in just four days of its release.
Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, which is a comedy entertainer, is produced by Pandiraj and P.Madan and directed by Pandiraj. The story and the screenplay is also written by Pandiraj. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed music for KBKR. The movie stars Vimal and Sivakarthikeyan in lead roles, along with Bindu Madhavi and Regina Cassandra.
The film was released on 29 March 2013 in more than 275 screens in Tamil Nadu. KBKR received positive reviews from critics and good word-of-mouth from audiences.
Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga has emerged a surprise winner at Tamil Box Office. KBKR has broken all records of this year. The movie took a grand opening and still continues to run successfully at the box office.
As per reports given in Superwoods, KBKR collected 3.65 crores on the opening day. The movie collected 3.38 crores on Saturday, 3.46 crores on Sunday and 3.02 crores on Monday. Thus, the total collection of the movie in four days is 13.51 crores.
Box office collections in the overseas market for KBKR is also good. In the first weekend, KBKR has made a decent collection at UK-Ireland Box Office. It has earned £18,428 (Rs 15.19 lacs) in 11 screens. The response in the US was better than in the UK for the film. US screens collected $35,187 (Rs 19.11 lacs) in 17 screens.
Reports from Malayasia and Singapore say that the film has been received well by the audience.
On the release day, the film got a decent opening at the multiplexes but the response was excellent in single screens. But during the weekend, the film did unexpectedly very well in few of the main screens in Chennai and other mass-dominated regions.
Even in multiplexes, the evening shows attracted audience due to positive reviews. KBKR was released along with other two films – Chennaiyil Oru Naal and Keeripulla. Despite facing competition with Chennaiyil Oru Naal, KBKR managed to earn good revenue at collection centres.
