GV Prakash wins MTV Video Music Awards India (VMAI) award (Stills)

Chennai, Mar 25 (): GV Prakash, young music composer has won the MTV Video Music Awards India (VMAI) award for the Best Regional Music Video for “Uyrin Uyire”, his composition in the film, ‘Thaandavam’.

‘Thaandavam’, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, has its music composed by GV Prakash. The lyrics of “Uyrin Uyire” is penned by NA Muthukumar and singers Sathya Prakash and Saindhavi have sung the song.

On the 21st of March, 2013, MTV India presented MTV VMAI; the awards ceremony was a star-studded affair. Many artists from various music industries took part in the awards ceremony, when the southern youth icon G.V.Prakash Kumar bagged his award for a single song.

GV said receiving the MTV award was a great feeling and he is extremely happy bagging the award for best regional music video among the many Bollywood musicians, who have been giving him tough competition. He was the only south Indian in their midst.

GV Prakash said there are many reasons for considering the award as really special. He said Thaandavam was his 25th film. It was a great pleasure for him to receive an award for such a milestone film in his life, he said.

On discussing about the VMAI function, the young music icon said attending such a prestigious music award ceremony is itself a superb experience. The event was very well organised. The whole ceremony was up to international standards and it was wonderful watching renowned artistes perform, he described.

The young musician said he had always given his best for every project that he had worked on. He added that for some projects he was recognised and for some work he was rewarded, but he wished to still go on giving his best.

After getting praises for his music in the critically admired Bala’s Paradesi, G.V.Prakash has received this award at the first edition of MTV Video Music Awards India (VMAI) in Mumbai.
