New Delhi, Mar 20 (): Narendra Modi is the only Chief Minister from India to be privileged to address the Google Big Tent Activate Summit 2013 through Google+ Hangout on the theme, ‘Technology in Politics’ on March 21.
The Gujarat strongman will also be addressing and interacting with the chairman of Google Inc, Eric Schmidt in which Alan Rusbridger, Editor-in-Chief of British newspaper The Guardian and Stephanie Cutter will be participating.
A major accord is set to be signed between Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) and the British Gas (BG) when British minister of state for Foreign Office Hugo Swire is likely to visit Gandhinagar to meet Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
British minister of state for Foreign Office Hugo Swire is the man responsible for UK’s relations with India offering a large business delegation. Sources said that the Minister will also be addressing the media during the summit.
Following a prolonged boycott of the Modi government post-Godhra riots in 2002, Swire’s visit was considered to be most significant who decided to have links with Narendra Modi once again in October last year when British High Commissioner James Bevan visited Gujarat to meet Modi. Britain also took part at the sixth Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit that took place in the month of January this year.
The event will also be attended by several other high-profile speakers such as Stephanie Cutter, who served as the deputy director of President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns and Sam Pitroda.
The Big Tent Summit which is hosted by Google will also be attended by well-known and leading politicians, philosophers and policy-makers who will plan on several issues, said sources adding that this year’s event is scheduled to be held in the national capital.
The Gujarat Chief Minister will be tendering his discussion about the task of technology in politics through Google Plus hangout.
Narendra Modi is also scheduled to address Google Big Tent Activate Summit 2013 on Thursday.
