Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor to reunite in Karan Johar’s ‘Shuddhi’

Mumbai, Mar 18 (): Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor are reuniting once again for Karan Johar’s upcoming project “Shuddhi” after a gap of 10 years.

Kareena and Hrithik were last seen together in 2003 in Sooraj Barjatya’s Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. After the film, both of them stayed away from working with each other. Now, producer Karan Johar has managed to reunite the actors through his new project, Shuddhi. The movie will be directed by Agneepath director Karan Malhotra and is an intense love story.

Apart from “Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon”, the actors have starred in movies like “Yaadein,” “Mujhse Dosti Karoge!” and “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”.

“Shuddhi”, means purification that will mark the comeback of the successful trio Hrithik, producer- Karan Johar and director Karan Malhotra who gave one of the biggest hits of 2012 “Agneepath.” The movie was among the list of top ten grossers of 2012.

Earlier it was said Deepika Padukone would be roped in for Shuddhi. Deepika and Hrithik have never worked with each other.

When asked about the movie and its release date, Karan Johar said that it was a very important factor these days to have the release date in order. Shuddhi is a love story and with Hrithik’s intensity, he would be seen in a completely different avatar than in Agneepath, he said.

Karan Johar added that Rishikesh, the holy place, also has an important role to play in the movie. He said that Rishikesh is one of the prominent locations for Shuddhi and the movie is going to be an engrossing and challenging film for everyone who is involved in it.

Moreover, Shuddhi is a big budget film and with its theme and qualities and the vision that the makers have, it warrants a celebration period like Diwali for its release.

“Shuddhi” is expected to go on floors in November 2013 and the movie will hit theatres on the occasion of Diwali in 2014.
