English Vinglish to release in Hong Kong and Germany

Mumbai, Mar 15 (): English Vinglish, starring Sridevi and directed by Gauri Shinde, is all set to release in Hong Kong this weekend with Cantonese and English subtitles and the dubbed version of English Vinglish will be released in Germany in May 2013.

English Vinglish, the comeback movie of Sridevi, is all ready to witness the non-traditional newer markets of Hong Kong and Germany.

In Hong Kong, the movie releases this weekend across 7 screens with 29 shows daily which is the biggest release for a Hindi film in the region.

The film’s producer Eros International said English Vinglish is released in Germany across mainstream cinemas with 20 prints in May.

On knowing the news, actress Sridevi was excited and said that she was very happy and she hoped English Vinglish is dubbed and released in many other languages as it would find a sense of identification with all non-English speaking people across the world.

Director of English Vinglish Gauri Shinde is thrilled about the development of her movie. She said that she was extremely thrilled that her film is setting out to achieve what it tried to say within the storyline – to break the linguistic barrier, to make a communication across countries and communities, to bring different people closer from all over the world and bridge the gap between cultures. She stated that it was great to see this movement happen and she wished as many people to watch it as possible.

Gauri Shinde directorial venture’s ‘English Vinglish’ (EV) is a film that has opened linguistic doors in its scriptural context by showing the lead role overcoming her inhibitions regarding the English language.

The comeback movie of Sridevi has won hearts of audiences and critics alike. English Vinglish has also been showcased in many International Film Festivals, such as Toronto International Film Festival, International Film Festival Bratislava in Slovakia, Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco and 2013 Palm Springs International Film Festival.

The movie has been also been invited for the Festival Intl de Cine de Panama, Panama to be held in April, the DC International Film Festival in Washington in April, the 30th Jerusalem International Film Festival in Israel in July and the 34th Durban International Film Festival in July 2013.
