Chennai, Mar 14 (): Vijay’s Jilla was launched on March 11, Monday in Chennai in the presence of the cast and crew of the movie. Along with Ilayathalaphathy Vijay, director Nesan, composer Imman, producer R.B.Choudary and Vijay’s co-star in the movie Mahat Raghavendra and Jiiva, son of R.B.Choudary were present during the launch.
Directed by Nesan, Jilla is produced by R B Choudhary’s banner Super Good Films. Music is composed by D Imman. Along with Vijay, Kajal Agarwal and Malayalam top star Mohanlal play key roles in the movie. Poornima Bhagyaraj too plays an interesting role in the movie.
The movie has the best technical team, the camera is handled by Natraj aka Nutty, editing done by Praveen – Srikanth, Rajeevan manages production design and Anal Arasu is roped in as the action choreographer.
This year is the silver jubilee year of Super Good Films. Jilla is a significant movie for the Super Good Films banner as it is their 85th film in the 25th year.
Jilla is the fifth combo movie of Vijay and RB Choudhary. R.B. Choudhary said that Jilla is a script driven movie and that he was happy to be working with Vijay after the success of Thirupachi in 2005.
The story of Jilla is set in the backdrop of Madurai. The makers of the film have decided to erect a Madurai set in Chennai and they are spending a huge amount on the sets. Reports say the cost of the set is Rs one crore.
Vijay said he was very excited to share screen space with the Malayalam top star Mohanlal and assured that Jilla has a good story and content. Director Nesan said that the movie is set around Madurai and that they were targeting a Pongal release.
Jilla is planned to be made in a budget of around Rs 60 crore and the shooting for the movie starts in the first week of May.
