Guwahati, Mar 12 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday said his prime focus is to increase job opportunities for youth, and in this regard, he recently launched a youth entrepreneurship development programme.
“We want the unemployed youth to move away from insurgency. So our main aim is to create job opportunities for youth, so that they do not get involved in such activities,” Gogoi said.
Educated youth in Assam are now increasingly looking to become self-reliant. And to promote and develop entrepreneurship amongst the youth, the state government has taken this step.
The event was held under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Assam Government’s Bhartiya Yuva Shakti Trust.
Young entrepreneurs interacted with experts and discussed different issues including financing of projects.
With the decline of militancy in Assam, the youth of the state are optimistic about exploring new avenues in different sectors, including business and trade.
Major training organisations, including NEITCO, NECON, NSIC and IIE are already playing an important role in entrepreneurship development in the state. (ANI)
