Chennai luxury buses to have songs, comedy clips,weather report soon

Chennai, Feb 26 (): Making journey more comfortable and user-freindly, passengers travelling by Chennai city buses will now be acquainted with the weather outside and would also take the pleasure in enjoying comedy and song clips from Tamil movies while onboard.

Passengers will come to know about the next stop on an LED screen far in advance. On a trial basis now, Attract Infotainment Pvt Ltd is providing the service on AC bus route No. 21G and the facility would be gradually extended to the entire MTC fleet, said sources.

It will indeed be excellent to know about the weather updates along with humming Tamil song clips of the present and past years and enjoying comedy clips from Tamil movies in a moving city bus. It might even be a daydream to many.

Not far away are the days when passengers travelling by city buses will enjoy top-notch experience by being well prepared to face the boiling sun and high moisture levels in Chennai a short while before landing, with the help of GPS-based public infotainment service.

Passengers of an MTC bus have been overwhelmed by the experience, for the past couple of days. Passengers will be knowing about the approaching stop far ahead 150 metres before through the LED TV that will be fixed just behind the driver’s seat, said an official of a senior transport department.

Besides knowing the weather report, passengers will also be provided with information on various tourist destinations of Chennai. Officials also added saying that after evaluating the facilities’ effectiveness and good response from the travellers, a final decision will be taken.

By giving information about their travel, passengers might feel excited through songs and comedy clips besides demonstrating about the places and their popularity, admitted the official. Making this possible by a high-efficiency amplifier box fixed with a computer connected to the server at the Nungambakkam office, the message will be exhibited in Tamil and English, added the official.
