Sydney, Feb 23 (ANI): An Australian politician has said the city of Sydney is rapidly seeing an ‘Islamisation’ of its cities and claimed that the ideology of Islam is dangerous, sparking outrage among protestors.
Dutch MP Geert Wilders labelled Sydney as the Australian city with the maximum progress of Islamisation in a speech and said that the city needed to know about the dangerous ideology of Islam, News.com.au reports.
Wilders also made disparaging remarks about the Islamic holy book, the Koran, and dismissed that he was being intolerant, stating that he preferred the so-called intolerance of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill over the so-called peace of Islam.
Mentioning the fact that there are now more than 60 mosques across Sydney, Wilders said that the participants of 2012 Sydney riots are ‘al-Qaeda sympathisers’.
Protesting against Wilder’s views, social commentator Antony Loewenstein said that the Dutch MP believed in dividing society and added that Wilders’ hatred against Muslims goes against the general belief of Australians. (ANI)
