Chennai, Jan 30 (): Mani Ratnam’s Kadal releases on February 1 and with just few days left for the release of the movie, the makers are making all efforts to make sure the movie receives a grand opening. The advance booking for the film started on January 30 in Chennai city.
As the release of Kamal Haasan’s masterpiece movie Vishwaroopam is being postponed owing to the ban given by Tamil Nadu state government after some Muslim organisations raised objections, the number of cinema halls available for screening Kadal is also likely to change.
Mani Ratnam, the ace director has launched two newcomers to the film industry, Gautham Karthik, son of yesteryear lover-boy Karthik and Tulsi Nair, daughter of veteran actress Radha. The movie also features Arvind Swamy, Lakshmi Manchu and Arjun Sarja in important roles.
The story of the film revolves around a fisherman, who is caught between good and evil. The film releases simultaneously in Telugu as Kadali on the same day.
AR Rahman has done an extraordinary masterpiece work for Kadal and the album became viral as soon as the audio was launched. The film has seven songs written by Vairamuthu, Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam and Madan Karky. As usual Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman combination has worked well.
The main theatrical trailer was released on 11th January, 2013 by the production unit Madras Talkies on YouTube channel. The trailer was also released through the theatre prints of Karthi’s Alex Pandian that released on the same day. On the first day itself, the trailer went viral in the net and crossed 1 million views on YouTube.
The movie is releasing with lot of expectations among the masses. With the advance bookings going on steadily, Kadal is expected to do well at the box office.
