Mumbai, Jan 18 (): The audio launch of Special 26, held at Regal Cinema, a prime spot for the film premiers in the 1980s, on Wednesday, January 16, was a gala occasion. The stars of the film attended the occasion.
Akshay Kumar, who plays the lead role in the movie, along with the star cast of Special 26 launched the music of the film. Akshay sung the song, “Mujme tu..”, at the launch.
The actor has done special playback for the first time in his lifetime for his upcoming film ‘Special Chabbis’ and said that he likes to dedicate the song to his dearest wife, Twinkle Khanna. The song would not be included in the movie but he has done only for his passion and used it as a promotional video.
The song ‘Mujme Tu’, which Akshay has sung, is a romantic song. He wanted to dedicate the romantic song to his wife Twinkle Khanna, as Thursday (January 17) is their wedding anniversary and Valentine`s Day is also approaching.
Director Neeraj Pandey of “A Wednesday fame” is back with Special Chabbis. He maintains the same zeal and enthusiasm and claims the movie to be a commercial entertainer.
Special 26 features Akshay, Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles and Jimmy Shergill, Manoj Bajpai and Anupam Kher in supporting roles. The movie is set in the early 1980s.
The concept of the film is taken from the real-life bold robbery that took place in 19-March-1987 when an unknown man pretending as CBI officer Mon Singh employed 26 men acting as income tax officers executing a daylight income tax raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai, and disappeared with jewellery worth lakhs. Akshay plays the role of a fake CBI officer named Ajay Singh.
‘Special Chabbis’ is Akshay Kumar’s first release of 2013. The film is scheduled to release on February 8, 2013.
