Sidhi, Jan 10 (): In a coffin draped with Tricolour, thirty-year-old Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh was brought to his village at Dadhiya in eastern Madhya Pradesh today; the martyred soldier was one among the two who was killed by Pakistani troops near the Line of Control in Kashmir on Tuesday.
“Bharat Mata ki Jai” was the last words spoken by the brave young soldier who sacrificed his life for the sake of the country. Seeing the brave martyr’s body, his father collapsed who is a poor farmer not having enough to meet the family needs.
Accompanying the body of Sudhakar, soldier Sandeep Singh expressed the martyr’s last spoken words to the family “Bharat Mata ki Jai” before falling prey to the enemies’ bullets.
The news of the death of the brave soldier was given to the family on Tuesday, a short while after the news was read in the television channels declaring the death of the two martyrs.
Explaining about the courageous behavior of his son, Sudhakar’s father said that his son was a brave gentle man who would tell him not to worry about him. Sudhakar would always say, ‘Death is inevitable for all of us’,” said his father Sachidanand Singh with tears flowing from both the eyes.
Sudhakar had been in the Indian army for the past eleven years. Belonging to a poor farmer’s family with no money and enough to feed, Sudhakar was forced to join the army, said his brother.
In his last letter to his family, Sudhakar had mentioned that he is eagerly waiting to meet all the members as he is terribly missing each one of the family, said his father Sachidanand Singh. The family would not shed tears as my son has died a brave death, said his father. Sudhkar was married in the year 2009 and visited the village last September when his son was born on September 5, 2012.
