Charan alias Cherry (Ram Charan Teja) is a software engineer in a reputed company. He leads a joyful and peaceful life, doing all mischiefs with his uncle Jilebi (Brahmanandam). He falls in love with Madhu (Kajal), the sister of local Don Gandipeta Babji’s (Rahul Dev).

At the same time, a series of brutal murders take place in places around Hyderabad and Kolkata. The murderer targets Minister Rawat (Pradeep Rawat). When the plot was leaked out, a CBI team starts searching Cherry, who is assumed to be the main culprit in a serial murder case.

On the other side, Siddharth Naayak (Charan) turns into a mass leader at a young age. What is the relation between Cherry and Siddharth? Why Siddharth has committed these murders? The remaining story reveals all puzzles.

Ram Charan, doing dual characters, is very responsive and confident in both the roles. He has made his screen presence strong and bears the film on his shoulders. His dialogue delivery, voice modulation, dance and action sequences make him the showman of the movie.

Kajal Aggarwal is gorgeous in song sequences and her chemistry with Ram Charan is one of the highlights of the film.

Amala Paul does not have enough scope to perform, but by appearing in few scenes and couple of songs she has impressed the audiences with her glamour.

Other cast like Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, Posani Krishna Murali, Rahul Dev, and Jayaprakash Reddy have done their job well in their respective characters.

SS Thaman’s music and background score are mind-blowing. Tracks like ‘Nellorae’, ‘Katti lanti Pilla’, ‘Subhaleka’ and ‘Hey Naayak’ are excellent to listen.

The picturisation for the songs like ‘Katti lanti Pilla’, ‘Subhaleka’ and ‘Oka Choopuke Padipoya’ are well accomplished by Chota K Naidu.

VV Vinayak has not given a great screenplay, but he has made his movie entertaining through his excellent narration.

Powerful dialogues and comedy punches are rich and plentiful in Naayak. Dance choreography and action sequences are the highlights of the film. Twin roles of Ram Charan offer a double dose of entertainment with twice the doses of romance.

Naayak is a perfect entertainment for this Sankranthi.
