Mumbai, Jan 9 (): Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy movie, is co-produced, directed, co-scripted and music scored by Vishal Bharadwaj. The film stars Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma and Pankaj Kapoor playing the title roles while Arya Babbar and Shabana Azmi play supporting roles. The film is slated to release on 11th January, 2013.
Made on a budget of 40 crores, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (MKBKM) is set in the rustic surroundings of a village in Haryana. This romantic comedy film has been given U/A certificate from the Indian Censor Board of Film Certification.
The first trailer of the movie introduce us to the three main leads in the film, who are called Matru, Bijlee and Mandola. Matru charater is played by Imran Khan, Bijlee by Anushka Sharma and Mandola by Pankaj Kapoor.
Harry Mandola is a wealthy industrialist who loves his drink, his daughter Bijlee and the unusual bond they both share with Harry’s man friday, Matru. Harry wishes Bijlee to marry Baadal (Arya Babbar), the son of a powerful politician Chaudhari Devi (Shabana Azmi). This alliance brings twists and turns in the lives of Matru, Bijlee and Mandola, which is narrated with the sense of humour.
About saying her character in the film, Anushka said that she played a strong headed, outspoken girl in the film and the trailers of the film highlighted the bold approach of her character. The actress found the role of Bijlee challenging as it was difficult for her to relate to it.
In the trailers, Imran looks utterly confident in his character. As playing one of the lead roles, Imran will give us a visual delight. This film has given Imran Khan first experience to share his screen space with Pankaj Kapur, a veteran actor. Imran Khan and Anushka admitted that they had learnt a lot from the veteran actor.
