New Delhi, Dec 27 ():23-year-old Delhi gang-rape survivor was flown to Singapore on Thursday morning for further treatment as the girl remained to be in a critical condition though showed symptoms of improvement.
After being shifted out of the Safdarjung Hospital, the girl who was accompanied by her father and two doctors was taken straightaway to the airport late on Wednesday night. Claiming that the girl’s health is getting deteriorated day by day, doctors at the Safdarjung Hospital said that it was important to shift her to Singapore hospital that is well specialized in multi-organ transplant procedures. Due to the tracheal tube in her mouth the victim was feeling uneasy to speak with her friends and relatives and was able to communicate only by nodding.
Finding this decision to be a good move, it came in after the government came to a conclusion after discussing with experts across India, US and UK. The government who is bearing all the expenses decided to shift the victim to Singapore. The incident that triggered rage in the nation sparked massive protests in the national capital, after which the government has announced a number of security measures for women in the city.
Meanwhile a team of psychiatrists at Safdarjung Hospital on Tuesday started counseling the victim’s parents in order to provide emotional help to the family and friends of rape victim. Terming that it is very important to communicate significantly and hopefully with patients who have come across such trauma in their life, Dr Rajesh Rastogi , consultant and head of psychiatry department said that such counseling might even provide necessary emotional support to the victim.
The fear of infection in her abdomen is still causing concern as it indicates signs of sepsis, said senior surgeon Sunil Jain. Praying for the victim’s speedy recovery, billions of people across the country are hoping the girl to get out of this traumatic situation safe and sound.
