New Delhi, Dec 15 (): The first much-anticipated auction of Hockey players for Hockey Indian League (HIL) is to kick start on 16th Dec 2012. 152 numbers of Indian domestic players have signed up for HIL players.
The names of 246 hockey players all over the world who will take part in the inaugural season of Hockey India League are announced. These players are divided into 13 base-price categories ranging from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
Sardar Singh and Sandeep Singh are the hot Indian picks for 27,800 US dollars and Jamie Dwyer, Glenn Turner, Liam De Young and Imran Mohammad are the top Australian players among hot foreign players with 25000 US dollars.
The other country hot picks include Take Taekema, Teun De Nooijer, and Floris Evers from Netherlands for 25000 US dollars. Others in the top list are Moritz Fuertse, Oliver Korn, from Germany, Ramon Alegre and David Alegre from Spain and Mahmood Rashid from Pakistan and Dean Couzins from New Zealand and England’s Asley Jackson.
The list of 152 Indian players consists of 19 goalkeepers, 39 mid-fielders, 23 defenders and 71 forwards. Overall, there are 34 goalkeepers which includes Blaak Pirmin from Holland. The auction lists includes 58 mid-fielders, 53 defenders and 98 forwards.
The franchises are Lucknow owned by Sahara India Parivar, Mumbai by Dabur India, Punjab by Jaypee group, Delhi by Wave group and Ranchi by Patel Uniexcel and Bangalore which is unsold.
Each franchise will have one Marquee player and the list of the players are Indians – Sardar Singh, Sandeep Singh and S.V.Sunil Jamie Dwyer of Australia, Teun de nooijer of Holland and Moritz Fuertse of Germany.
Each franchise can buy 24 players for three years and the maximum bid is 58,700 US dollars.

The league matches start from January 17 to February 17, 2013.
