Mumbai, Dec 14 (): Khiladi 786 and Talaash would continue to have a good run in theatres, before Dabangg 2 hits the screens on December 21.
Akshay Kumar’s movie Khiladi 786 is getting tough competition with the previous week release of Aamir Khan’s Talaash at the Indian Box Office on weekdays. Khiladi 786 was released on December 7, whereas Talaash was released on November 30.
Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi 786 was one of the most awaited releases of this year. While the film keep count on its music and good reviews, it had a rather average opening.
Meanwhile, last Friday’s Reema Kagti-directed Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Kareena Kapoor and Nawazuddin starrer, Talaash-The answer lies within, managed a good weekend of 44-45 crore, but flattered to deceive, as thereafter the weekdays saw the collections falling according to planetbollywood.com.
The Akshay Kumar and Asin starrer, Khiladi 786 is doing good collection in single screens, while Aamir Khan’s psychological thriller has good occupancy in multiplexes across the country.
Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi 786, showed a big disappointment at the overseas Box Office, when compared to Aamir Khan’s Talaash. Khiladi 786 has done very poor business at the USA Box Office in the first weekend. Talaash has overtaken Khiladi 786 at the UK Box Office and Australian Box Office too.
Aamir Khan’s Talaash is expected to end up as the 3rd biggest hit overseas of the year 2012 and that proves again that overseas performance of “3 Idiots” was more about content than star power and same was the case at domestic box office.
And Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2 is releasing on December 21, 2012. This movie is the sequel to Salman Khan’s 2010 blockbuster Dabangg. Salman returns the role of his much-loved character Chulbul Pandey.
The fact remains that the Akshay Kumar starrer is being spoken about for its music and action and Aamir is seen in a masala mass film after two years in Talaash. As for the Salman Khan starrer, it is in news for ‘attitude of Chulbul Pandey’.
Trade analysts expect Khiladi 786, Talaash to dominate till the release of Dabangg 2.
