Lalgarh, Dec 9 (): Initiating the attack on the Trinamool Congress, for not making proper use of the funds sent by the central government for developing the Maoist-hit Lalgarh, Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh criticized Mamata Banerjee saying she no more remains a good administrator.
“The fund which was sent by the central government for the development projects in Lalgarh in West Midnapore has not been properly used. As per Mamata’s claim, Congress is not anybody’s B-team .It is common to all,” said Union minister Jairam Ramesh.
In a party meeting in the one-time Maoist stronghold of Jangalmahal, Ramesh said that though the Trinamool chief is a good political leader, she cannot be considered as a good administrator. Her claim that Bengal did not receive any financial assistance from the centre is false.
Alleging to have given Rs 13,000 crore in the past one year and another Rs Rs 2,700 crore for building 5,500 km of road for rural development, the Minister said that the central assistance given for the sake of socio-economic development for home-grown people was not utilized properly by the previous government as well as the present government.
The government feels sorry for Mamata’s lack of administration even after a large amount of fund being pumped in the three Maoist-affected districts were not properly utilized by the TMC, said the Minister.
He also criticized the TMC for using harsh words against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and calling the central government a minority government without realizing that the TMC came to power in the state with the help of Congress alliance and threw the UPA government after its intention was fulfilled.
By renaming the ruling government as Anandha Dhara, the TMC failed to understand that this Dhara is flowing from the government at the centre, said Jairam Ramesh. This was the second visit of the minister to Lalgarh in the past seven months.
