Mumbai, Nov 29 (): Aamir Khan’s “Talaash” is releasing on November 30 and the film is expected to release big in the screens as his previous blockbuster movie “3 Idiots”. The movie starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in lead roles is produced by Excel Entertainment.
Trade analyst Amod Mehra says the buzz is good and the weekend should earn approximately Rs 40 crores. The makers of Talaash were under tremendous pressure to open the ticket windows for advance bookings on Sunday.
But, advance bookings usually open on Mondays for single screens and on Wednesdays for multiplexes. As usual, the advance bookings for Talaash opened in all theatres (except the ones in Chennai) on Monday, four days prior to the movie’s release.
But, Girish Wankhede, national marketing head, Cinemax India Ltd., said in a statement that owing to strong buzz and huge inquiries from customers, they opened the advance booking for ‘Talaash’ on Sunday pan-India at all their Cinemax multiplexes.
Shashank Raizada, managing director of capital-based Delite Cinema, also said the same fact that the advance booking of ‘Talaash’ was opened one day earlier, on Sunday, as the people were approaching the theatres and asking for tickets. The real fact, he said, that they started getting many block bookings almost 15 days ago. He added their conventional bookings also had been very good.
“Talaash” is a suspense drama and the movie is predicted to do well in multiplexes, metros and overseas. ‘Talaash’ is likely to earn more in foreign markets on the first day due to more number of screens. But the real challenge for the film is to find audience in smaller centres and single screens where more massy cinema works these days.
‘Talaash’ releases in around 2500 screens in India and more than 500 screens overseas, which means a good opening will bring the film on the verge of being a hit.
