Box Office Collection : Rush, Ajab Gazabb Love, Chakravyuh suffer at BO

Mumbai, Oct 30 (): It was estimated at least two films out of the three new releases of last week, Ajab Gazabb Love, Rush and Chakravyuh – to take a great opening at box office.

But, due to its competition with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year, all the expectations about the films faded as the collection of the movies on its first weekend was disappointing.

Chakravyuh hit screens on 24th October, on a Dussera holiday. The movie directed by Prakash Jha, was the biggest directorial project after his success movie Aarakshan and the movie was estimated to open with a bang at the box office. But,the film could not receive a grand opening.

As per the reports given in oneindia entertainment, the movie collected Rs 12.25 crores at the desi collection centers in its first weekend. The breakup is as follows – Wed – Rs 3.25 cr; Thu – Rs 2 cr; Fri – Rs 1.65 cr; Sat – Rs 2.50 cr and Sun – Rs 2.85 cr.

Ajab Gazabb Love, a romantic comedy movie was released after a good promotion by the makers and the movie was expected to receive a decent opening when compared to the other two releases. Despite having received good word of mouth from viewers, the film failed to do big business at collection centers.

It has collected approximately 4.25 crores nett at the domestic box office in its first weekend. Oneindia entertainment says the movie collected Rs 1.25 cr – Fri, Rs 1.40 cr – Sat and Rs 1.6 cr – Sun.

Rush has done the worst collection out of all three movies. The movie features Emraan Hashmi, Neha Dhupiya in lead roles. Earlier, Emraan has given two hits with Raaz 3 and Jannat 2, and this film too was released with much-hype and expected to be his third hit in 2012.

Oneindia entertainment says the movie received worst opening collecting just Rs 2.10 crores at the domestic box office in its first weekend. The breakup is as follows – Fri – Rs 60 lakhs, Sat – Rs 70 lakhs and Sun – Rs 80 lakhs.

From this, one can realize the fact that bulk movie releases could always show poor results at the collection centers.
