CGTR effect : Nagarjuna’s Damarukam release postponed!

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (): Akkineni Nagarjuna’s upcoming movie Damarukam was scheduled to release worldwide on October 20. But, now it is learnt that the release of the movie may be postponed. The reason they say is the effect caused by power star Pawan Kalyan’s movie Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu.

Last week, Nagarjuna’s Damarukam completed the censor certification formalities from the Censor Board. The movie was given a ‘U/A’ certificate and a statement released by the makers said the movie would release on October 20. Rumors from T-Town say the release date is surely postponed for various reasons but still not sure when the movie will be released.

Sources say the production team has called the theater owners and has informed them about the rescheduling of the movie. Already major cinema halls have opened the advance bookings and issued tickets prior to the release date. Now the bookings are halted.

Even if the revised release date has not been announced, reports say the movie might be released either on 24th October or 1st November.

Some say as CGTR has showed tremendous response at Box Office, the makers of Damarukam fear to release this big budget movie on October 20. The immediate release after CGTR may result in setbacks at collection centers.

Srinivasa Reddy has directed Damarukam, which is the big budget movie in the acting career of Nagarjuna and has been under production for two years. The making of the movie was delayed due to the wide graphics work and also financial problem.

Damarukam, which is partially based on Amish Tripath’s book ‘The Immortals of Meluhha’, has a mythological story line with a modern feel. It is made with a big budget of 45 crores and has extensive computer graphics for 70 minutes. Chota K Naidu is handling cinematography. Each and every frame is done with much care and the cinematographer says that Damarukam would have better computer graphics than Eega.
