Rehman Malik tells U.S. to stop cross-border infiltration from Afghanistan

Washington, Oct. 7 (ANI): Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik, during his visit to the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, has reportedly told top American officials that cross-border infiltration from Afghanistan should be stopped, terming it as the reason for the current unrest in Balochistan.

Malik added that had also presented “verbal evidence” about such infiltration from the neighbouring country, reports The News.

Malik’s statement goes against the one given by former Balochistan chief minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal last week who said the real cause of unrest in Balochistan was forced disappearances.

Malik is on a two-day visit here and held a bilateral meeting with the Working Group on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement and Anti-narcotics. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton welcomed him at the State Department. Both leaders discussed security related issues.

Malik also met with the director FBI, Robert Mueller, as well as the director Homeland Security. (ANI)
