The unmanned capsule will lift off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Sunday at 8:35 p.m. EDT. The commercial spacecraft will deliver supplies and food to the crew members of International Space Station. This mission is the first mission of the total 12 cargo missions by SpaceX, which are contracted by NASA.

Till now, SpaceX is the leader in the area of private spaceflight. It is the only company to ever launch and retrieve a space capsule, which it did at the end of 2010.

Space X is lifting up at night, which would be one among the most striking rocket launches to view. The launch can be viewed directly across the space coast of Florida and beyond.

Ben Cooper, a photographer said night launches are always spectacular. Especially if you are close to the launch site, it lights up the whole area. Through his website LaunchPhotography.com, he offers tips to view the rocket launch for public.

Tickets are being sold for the best spot from where the launch can be viewed through NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Andrea Farmer, Visitor Complex spokeswoman said that they have received a great response. Some more tickets are still available for the folks. She said the launch is going to be a spectacular launch.

Cooper’s website shows sample launch photographs taken from various viewing spots open to public. He says sometimes the launch may be delayed. According to Cooper, sunset and sunrise are best launch periods. If the launch gets more into the daytime it will become a little less spectacular, he said.

And you can also see the launch through NASA’s live broadcast on NASA TV.
