Hamilton going ‘all gloves off’ to get favourable results in Japanese GP

London, Oct. 3 (ANI): Lewis Hamilton warned his Ferrari rival, Fernando Alonso to watch out as the Brit bids to rescue his floundering world title hopes in Sunday’s Suzuka showdown.

Hamilton, 27, who dramatically announced last week that he was quitting McLaren for rival Mercedes at the end of the season, is so far behind in the points table, which is being led by bitter rival Alonso as of now, that only a victory in the Japanese Grand Prix would bring about a changed result.

The Brit said lavish battle plans have been ditched in favour of an all-out attack targeted on starting from pole and roaring away to the chequered flag.

“In terms of the championship there’s nothing really to be gained by analysing the points table. From now it’s simply gloves off. As in Singapore I’ll come out fighting. I’ll just be hoping for a better result this time,” the Daily Mirror quoted Hamilton, as saying.

The 2008 world champion is heading for the Far East after choking back the bitter disappointment of retiring while leading the last round in Singapore.

Victory in the night street race would have dramatically tipped scales in the world title fight and put Hamilton almost within striking distance of the Spaniard. Instead he has slipped from second to fourth in the championship, a cavernous 52 points behind Alonso with six rounds remaining.

Five days later Hamilton amazed the Formula 1 world by announcing that he was quitting McLaren, which has been his home for more than half his life, to join the Brackley-based Mercedes. (ANI)
