Taipei, Sep 29 (): Rovio, the makers of Angry Birds have released a new game, named ” Bad Piggies” on Thursday September 27. Asia’s senior vice president of Rovio said the launching ceremony held in Taipei, the Taiwanese capital was the first event in a sequence of global events.
The game is launched for Mac, iOS, Android and PC and is a sequel to Angry Birds games, which is played from pigs’ point of view.
In Bad Piggies, the pigs play the main role from Piggy Island, the place where they live. The game is full of new adventures and colourful levels. The game is set as the Bad Piggies are after the eggs again but nothing is moving as per their plans. They have to create an ultimate flying machine and steer it safely to their destinations.
Rovia said in a statement, with 60+ levels and free updates, the game takes the user through hours of pig-crashing, flying and exploding. When the user gets 3 stars, he can unlock an additional 30 levels. There are 4 sandbox levels, which let them expand their creativity to the highest level. Totally 33 objects are offered to create ultimate machine.
The company said, the Bad Piggies game was launched on Mac, iOS and Android on Thursday, but versions for Windows 8, Windows Phone and PCs will be released at a later date.
Rovio Entertainment hopes that this new game would give additional life to its brand. Head of the gaming at Rovio, Petri Jarvilehto said that they strongly believe Bad Piggies would become a hit game as Angry Birds.
Bad Piggies is available free on Google Play, for $0.99 (Rs 52 approximately) on iOS App Store and for $4.99 (around Rs 264) on Mac App Store.
Angry Birds helped Rovio to earn a profit of $60 million (48 million euros) in 2011, on the sales of 75.4 million euros, but the follow-up titles did not get the same success, at the same time interest in original game is slowly declining.
