Bangalore, Sep 25 (): In a case of a major security breach, the Bangalore police arrested a woman who possessed a bogus ID card pretending to be a higher-ranking scientist of the Indian Space and Research Organization (ISRO) in Bangalore.
The woman who is in her 40’s was nabbed by the securities when she was trying to make her entry into a hall at the high-security ISRO headquarters. After investigation, it was revealed that the woman in her 40s is Buela M Sam who hailed from Ahmedabad, and had come to Bangalore in depression and was missing for the past ten days, according to her family members.
The woman was taken into custody and had been remanded till Oct 6. The card which she was carrying permitted her to stay at the ISRO guest house for a couple of days that is at a distance of ten km from the campus. However she did not reportedly indulged in collecting any vital information or documents, said the officials of the ISRO.
Buela had visited Kollam in Kerala on Sep 19 to attend the last rites of her father and then moved towards Bangalore on the same day and made a halt at ISRO’s guest house at Jeevan Beemanagar by possessing a fake ID card.
Police guess the woman could have acquired the card from a photo studio at Kollam. She was arrested under various sections of the IPC. Buela M Sam, who was caught at a time when the space research organization is preparing to launch PSLV10, has raised suspicions whether she had any link with the terror outfits.
Though Buela M Sam’s husband has claimed that she was a mentally challenged patient, police fail to understand the reason for her entry into a sensitive area like ISRO.
Earlier, a DRDO scientist was arrested by the officials for his role in having connection with the L-e-T and Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami.
