Box office collection : Heroine collects Rs 7.5 cr on its opening day

Mumbai, Sep 23 (): Heroine showed a good start by collecting Rs 7.5 crores at domestic box office on its opening day. The movie has collected a decent amount, in spite of it facing competitions with Ganesh Utsav and ICC Twenty-Twenty World Cup.

The opening day collections of Heroine have shattered Madhur Bhandarkar’s earlier movie Fashion starring Priyanka Chopra and Vidya Balan’s movie Kahaani. But the movie has failed to surpass the opening day collection of Vidya Balan’s The Dirty Picture. TDP directed by Milan Luthria had collected Rs 10 crores nett on its first day of release.

Heroine witnessed about 50-60% occupancy on its opening day, as its business was partially affected by Ranbir Kapoor’s Barfi, which is still doing well in its second week.

Heroine did well in most of the multiplexes across the country, but the occupancy at single screen theatres was not that satisfactory. The collections were low in the urban areas. The single screen theatres at West Bengal and South India have received audience to a good extent. The movie has also done well in Rajasthan, Delhi and UP.

Trade experts predicted to get more business in the evening and night shows, but it was not up to the expected mark. It collected approximately Rs 7.5 crore nett at the desi box office on September 21 as per reports by entertainment.oneindia.in.

However, trade analysts say that Kareena Kapoor’s Heroine has witnessed a very good opening day collection. When compared to her previous films Heroine’s business is said to be far better. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Kareena’s previous film with Imran Khan collected Rs 5.5 crores nett at the desi box office on its first day.

Saturday and Sunday business are very crucial to decide the fate of the movie. It is predicted that the movie would do well on these two days to give a decent opening weekend collection.
