Washington, Sep 22 (ANI): Mitt Romney, who was earlier caught on camera calling ABC’s “The View” women hosts “sharp-tongued”, has now agreed to appear on the show in October, where he will likely be asked to explain that comment in person.
Barbara Walters and her co-hosts on “The View” responded to Romney’s “sharp-tongued” comment, where Sherri Shepherd mocked the Republican for saying the ‘show is risky’.
“If I could make a football analogy, this is just preseason, this is an exhibition game,” she said. “If you can’t handle four sharp-tongued women, how are you going to handle the country?” Shepherd said.
David Letterman also extended an invitation to Romney after the Republican candidate was recorded saying that the CBS host “hates” him for appearing on Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” rather than on “The Late Show.”
“I don’t hate Mitt. And, I think now, more than ever, he and his lovely wife Mrs. Mitt are more than welcome to come on the show,” the New York Daily News quoted Letterman, as telling an audience on his show.
“And I’m telling you, if you think you’re going to get to the White House, you’ve gotta spend time in this chair. We’ll get him in here and we’ll see how it goes,” he added.
During a May fundraiser in Florida, Romney had reportedly made controversial comments about both the shows and their hosts.
“They’re very jealous of one another as you know,” Romney had said in reference to Letterman’s ‘The Late Show’ and ‘Leno’s ‘Tonight Show’.
“‘The View’ is high risk because of the five women on it, only one is conservative. Four are sharp-tongued and not conservative, Whoopi Goldberg in particular,” he had added. (ANI)
