London, Sept. 18 (ANI): Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein said that British Prime Minister David Cameron told him during the London Olympics that England is united against GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
“I also witnessed Prime Minister David Cameron say to a group of people, myself included, that Mitt Romney had that unique distinction of uniting all of England against him with his various remarks,” Weinstein said.
Shortly before the summer Olympics, Romney was critical of London’s preparedness, and said: “You know, it’s hard to know just how well it will turn out”.
“There are a few things that were disconcerting, the stories about the, private security firm not having enough people, the supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials, that obviously is not something which is encouraging,” Romney added.
According to Politico, the Oscar-winning Weinstein, whose wife is English, is a supporter of President Barack Obama, for whom he has even held a fundraiser.
“So on behalf of my love of England, I have to support the president who is anything but making faux pas,” Weinstein said. (ANI)
