Mumbai, Sep 16 (): Barfi, the romantic comedy movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra directed by Anurag Basu has opened in the Indian theatres with a bang. According to reports given out by boxoffice capsule, on the opening day, September 14 the romantic comedy has fetched Rs 9.75 cr at the Indian box office.
But, the film directed by Anurag Basu has failed to surpass the 1st day collections of Rockstar, Ranbir Kapoor’s previous release. Rockstar, the musical romantic movie earned Rs 11 crores on its opening day in the domestic market.
Rockstar was released on 11th November, 2011 in 2,500 theatres. Now, Barfi is released in 1,300 multiplexes and 300 single screens in India. The movie has raked approximately Rs 9.75 crores net, falling short of Rs 1.25 crore to outshine Rockstar’s record.
The movie is doing good business in almost all the major cities in the country. Barfi is predicted to see a rise in its collections on Saturday and Sunday due to the good word of mouth publicity.
The response of the public to the movie is very good. Audience coming out of the theatres are really happy about the movie. They are giving out good words about the movie, especially about the acting of Ranbir and Priyanka.
The comedy of the movie is appealing and really appreciable. The theme and the whole story of the movie are appreciated by the audience.
Anurag Basu has directed the movie in a different manner. He takes the love subject in a different way. Romance between a mentally challenged girl and deaf-mute boy is depicted in an excellent manner. Ranbir and Priyanka have helped the director to a great extent to bring his character live.
Initially, the trailer of the movie was received well and got many views on YouTube. Now, Barfi has become one of the movies with biggest multiplex opening.
