Rahul Gandhi’s UP visit proves futile

New Delhi, Sep 14 (): In spite of the defeat in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, it appears that the Congress top leaders will not stop recommending Rahul Gandhi to play a bigger role in national politics. Even now, the scion’s Uttar Pradesh visit has proved to be futile, said sources.

Rahul Gandhi who visited his constituency Amethi on Thursday bore no fruit which ended in an agitation as college students took out a protest march expressing anger for no proper facilities.

While speaking to the people of his constituency Rahul said, “The facilities in Amethi must remain the same as in Delhi and Bangalore.”

On Thursday, the Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav after a direct hit on Rahul Gandhi said, “I wholeheartedly welcome this young man to politics and perform well.”

When asked by reporters whether Rahul Gandhi is fit to become the Prime Minister, Mulayam replied, ” Our party is not going to make him the Prime Minister, it the decision of the Congress party. Better ask this question to party president Sonia Gandhi.”

rahul Gandhi on Tuesday was under tremendous attack by the Samajwadi Party general secretary Mohan Singh who questioned his ability to lead the country.

“People who are well aware of Indian politics will be sure that Gandhi lacks quality and cannot afford to tackle the challenges. Gandhi indeed is not the right person as suggested by the Congress leaders,” said Mohan Singh.

Mohan Singh’s remark against Rahul Gandhi was largely condemned by the Congress party spokesperson Rashid Alvi who uttered, ” People passing notes against Rahul Gandhi either do not know Rahul or the Congress. It is not appropriate to pass such comments against a national leader like Rahul Gandhi.”

Time constantly has been changing in both Amethi and Rae Bareli with less response to the Congress party. Rahul Gandhi by now would have realized that the situation might worsen further just by offering words, said sources.
