New Delhi, Sep 13 (): Disapproving Narendra Modi’s yatra as Swami Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said Modi could have better named it as “Hitler Yatra.”
“I could not believe how Modi thought to compare him with Swami Vivekanand. Modi in no way is identical to Vivekananada. He could have better named it as “Hitler Yatra,” said Digvijay Singh.
” Digvijay Singh termed that it does not seem to him a coincidence that Narendra Modi has commenced his Yatra when his party is more interested in damaging the Central Government,” said Mr Singh.
“In both the controversies, there was a resemblance between the argument raised by the BJP over 2G spectrum allocation and coal block allocation from 2009 – 2012 following the submission of the CAG report including the Bofors that was made an issue by the opposition between 1985 and 1990. One has to keenly watch that in both the cases, a foreign media got involved and intended in damaging the reputation of the Congress,” argued Singh.
Recalling the past incident, the Congress leader said that earlier a report on Bofors scam that was submitted by the then CAG TN Chaturvedi was extensively mentioned in some of the major foreign newspapers. The foreign media at that time intended to campaign against Rajiv Gandhi.
Again the same thing happened when the present CAG tabled the report on 2G and coal block. The foreign media is giving such wrong reports against Rahul Gandhi intending to damage the Congress-led UPA government, which is nothing other than making a repetition of the past, said Mr Singh.
When asked about Mulayam Singh Yadav, who said in Kolkata on Tuesday that the Congress Party was fully infected with scams and will not be forming the next government at the Centre, Singh denied passing any comment by saying that “Yadav is a senior leader. I don’t want to say anything about him except to prove his allegations.”
