Arvind Kejriwal meets PMANE convener Udayakumar in Kudankulam

Tirunelveli, Sep 13 (): To determine the situation in Kudankulam, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal visited Idinthakarai from where he took a boat to have a secret meeting with PMANE convener S P Udayakumar, said sources.

Arvind Kejriwal after meeting the PMANE activist returned back to Idinthakarai and went to Tsunami Colony to meet the families of those arrested by the police. He then visited the police station where none of the officers were present. Till now, fifty-two people have been arrested indulging in the riot that took a violent turn two days back.

Normalcy has been restored in Kudankulam , said Tamil Nadu additional director general of police S. George.“Police are analyzing and preparing a list of people who indulged in violence in the name of protest.”

Regarding the arrest of Udayakumar, south zone inspector general Rajesh Das said , “The man  has been  shifting from one place to another in the past two days, any how  we have  located  his hidden place and  he will soon be nabbed.”

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Congress president B.S. Gnanadesikan said that the PMANE leader should be firmly punished for fanning the fire among the people who were not so educated. The PMANE activists were trying to motivate the people for their personal cause in and around Kudankulam, said the Congress president.

“The Chief Minister should deal strictly with these firebrands severely,” said Elangovan, former Union minister. He also added that some agitators were against the nuclear plant, who blamed Udayakumar and his associates for brainwashing the people for some reason.

On the other hand, social activist Aruna Roy has expressed her anger condemning the police crackdown on the protesters of the KKNPP. She said that when the government has proved its inability in disposing the garbage that is produced day by day, how is it possible to convince the nuclear waste.
