Mumbai, Sep 10 (): Box office reports say the first weekend collection of the horror movie Raaz 3 adds up to Rs 36.5 crores nett.
Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt’s much-expected horror movie Raaz 3, the sequel in the Raaz series, has shattered the box office collection records of Jannat 2 and Murder 2. Jannat 2 collected Rs 36.5 crores and Murder 2 collected Rs 35.55 crores on their opening weekend.
The movie was released on September 7 and the occupancy was satisfactory. About 75- 85% occupancy was registered in both multiplexes and single screens across the country. The makers also have showed a paid preview on Thursday evening.

Preview show on Sep 6, Thursday – 00.55cr
Opening day Sep 7, Friday – 10.25 cr
Sep 8, Saturday – 11.05 cr
Sep 9, Sunday – 13.75 cr
Total domestic collections – 36.60 cr net
“Raaz 3” got a good opening on Friday; Saturday was better than Friday and on Sunday the movie did a good business. The makers are expecting the collection to cross 50 crore in its first week.
Taran Adarsh, trade analyst said the response of the viewers for Raaz 3 is tremendous and extraordinary. It has started big and can be termed as one of the biggest starters of this year. Raaz 3 has become the largest opener for Bhatts, Bipasha Basu and Emraan Hashmi at the Indian box office.
Raaz 3 is a 3D horror movie. The makers have released the movie in more theatres with 3D prints than the 2D version. The 3D movie was certified ‘A’ by the Indian Censor Board without making any cuts.
Raaz 3 has lots of enjoyment and the special 3D effects become the major highlight of the movie. The performances of the lead actors, melodious and soothing music for the sound tracks, wonderful background music, stunning black magic sequences and Bipasha Basu’s showy scenes are the other special attractions of the movie.
