Ahmedabad, Sep 8 (): Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is likely to go on a month-long yatra that is about to commence from 11th of this month. Modi is expected to travel almost all the major parts of the state.
Swami Vivekanada spoke at the Chicago conference nearly one and half centuries ago. Modi has decided to begin with his remarkable yatra on the name of the Jagatguru, Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra.
“In the presence of former BJP president Rajnath Singh and Rajya Sabha opposition leader Arun Jaitley, the yatra will be launched from Becharaji temple town of North Gujarat,” said BJP spokesperson Vijay Rupani.
The Gujarat Chief Minister termed the reason for selecting Becharji as the preliminary point as Maruti is expected to construct its new car plant close to the temple town and the yatra will also mark the growth of the state, said Modi.
Being the foremost prime election campaign that is about to be launched by Mr Modi before the year end elections, the chief minister of Gujarat will be covering 150 small yatras along with the main yatra in order to cover all taluka centres and villages.
“150 small yatras will also be carried along with the main yatra to cover almost all taluka centres and villages, since it is the 150th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda speech at the Conference of World Religions that was held at Chicago,” Modi added.
Meanwhile, former chief minister Keshubhai Patel has condemned Modi‘s act of using the great soul, Vivekananda’s name for the sake of his political benefit.
Patel considered Narendra Modi as a faulty person who has adopted adversarial manner in the fake encounter case of Sohrubuddin Sheikh. Patel further observed that instead of investigating the fake encounter case, Modi was creating problems by putting hurdles on the way.
Keshubai Patel resigned from the BJP in the month of August and has started a new party Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP).
